Velvet Room

About Velvet Room
Welcome to the Velvet Room, here you will be able to do almost everything about your Persona.

About Fusion
From what I know, the result of the fusion is based on the which arcana and which arcana you are fusing with. The level seems to be slightly higher than the average of these 2. Before I begin, for basic, you can only fuse Persona whose level is equal or lower than your MC's level. Persona is not like Pokemon here. Your strength is not your MC's level, but is your Persona's level as they are able to learn better skill. However, Persona's level will not increase as fast as your MC's level. Nor can you recruit Persona whose level is higher than you (aside from Yoshida's ability). So, there's no point of keeping Persona whose level is far lower than your MC. So try to recruit shadow as many/often as possible and fuse as much as possible. Also, fusing a Persona will gain extra exp boost depending on your CR of that particular arcana. The Persona will be able to learn its skill earlier in this case.

About Persona Compedium
Once you have fused/scouted a particular Persona, you can always resummon it in return of money. Also keep in mind that the level, skill and stat of the Persona is based on the first time you fused/scouted that Persona. To overwrite your current library, you will have to register your current Persona. At 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% completion of the Compedium, Igor will reduce the cost of the summoning. Completing the Persona Compedium will unlock Mask Collector's trophy.

About Network Fusion
Network fusion seems to be connected to the net, depending on what your partner offered. Usually it will turn into a high level Persona. By luck, you can even get exclusive skill from DLC Persona. What I suggest is to network fuse Persona that you no longer need. You will may get a different Persona if you reset.

About Gallow/Strengthening
There are two purposes doing this.

  1. Increase the level of the Persona.
  2. Randomly passdown the one of the sacrifice's skills to the strengthen Persona. (Reset requires if you want to passdown specific skill)

Each Persona can only strengthen once per day. However, you can always register the strengthen Persona and it. Then resummon it so you can gallow it again. Honestly, this is pretty broken in my opinion. Do you know how hard was it to pass down skill in the SMT (Shin Megami Tensei) games?

About Lockdown
Keeping your Persona in Lockdown will allow it to learn Evade or Null weakness, depending on the twin's CR. During the lockdown timeframe, you will not be able to use the Persona or use it for fusion. However, you have to collect it once the Persona has matured otherwise it will leave your team. Personally, this feature is pretty useless except helping you to unlock one of the trophies, Through One's Sentence.

About Itemize
You can only itemize once per day. In this option, you will be able to itemize a Persona into an skill card or weapon. What the Persona becomes are fixed. You will need Blank card or Black Items (Kotagana/Rock) or Model Gun to itemize them, depending on what's the result. Most of the items you can get from Palace/Mementos. You will need Black Kotagana and Model Gun to make the ultimate weapon for your members. Black Kotagana can be purchased from recycle shop and Dark Net. However, Model Gun and Black Rock are slightly harder to get. Black Rock is pretty useless though.

About Dark Net
You will unlock Dark Net during 5th Palace. You will first need to purchase laptop from the recycle shop. Then go to Akihabara to purchase the repair set. You will need one Action to repair the laptop. Once you have repair you will be able to purchase Model Gun, Black Kotagana, Black Rock and Unholy Armor (ultimate armor but can only obtain VERY LATE in game). However, there's member ranking for this Dark Net. I suggest you to spend the most expensive item for the first time and unlock all of the items as soon as possible.

About Twins' Quests
I suggest that once you have completed their quest, register that particular Persona with its skill so you don't have to redo the quest at 2nd+ playthrough. Once you have completed all of the quests from Twins and reached CR10, you will unlock Special Treatment from the Twins. With this ability, you will be able to fuse Persona higher level than yourself at a cost of money. Honestly, this is pretty broken ability but the price is very expensive. Fusing just a level higher than your MC costs almost about 40k+. With that amount you can easily resummon level 60 Persona.

Trophies

About Trophies
Here is the list of those trophies that I can give some hints.

Drink Fanatic
Easy trophy. You can simply save the game, and buy all drinks from each vending machine. You don't have to drink them. Any drink you obtained from other place aside from vending machine will not be counted. Once you have obtained the trophy, you can simply reset the game.
Earliest to complete: 10th October once you have unlocked Strawberry Curry in Akihabara.

Mask of the Honor Student
Pretty easy trophy. I would say the 1st condition to ranked 1 in exam is to have max knowledge. With max knowledge, you are allowed to have like 2~3 mistakes in a single examation if I am not mistaken. There will be a total of 3 examination throughout the whole year. Aside from this trophy, I don't think it's worth spending time purposely on study for the exam unless you are sure you will be able to max your knowledge.
Earliest to complete: Most likely at 3rd exam around December.

The City Hard Hitter
This is probably the easiest side quest trophy you can get. You only need one action to get this trophies, and few times of reset. You will need to move your left analog until the estimated ball's location is above your bat and hope your timing is good enough. Once you get a homeroom out of the 5 times you can considered you are done with this shop. Unlike Guardian of the Pond, you do not need to read the book to get this trophy.

Guardian of the Pond
This one is slightly harder. You will need 4 actions to accomplish this. You will need to to go fishing for the first time. You can unlock the location after Ryuji invited you to fishing. There will be offer that if you go at night, it will be cheaper but less fish, which I think is good enough for you to get this trophy.
  1. Your first step is to go fishing for the first time, you can only fish all the small fishes, but that will be good enough cause you can't do much.
  2. Once you have fished once, go to Shibuya's bookstore and buy a Fishpond Spotter book. You will have to take an action to read the book. With this, you can use Third Eye during fishing, where you can see those fish with tags (more points) and Guardian (long gold in color)
  3. Then you will need to go fishing again, this time change all your point to Medium bait. Get as many points as possible.
  4. Now is the real deal, you will have to change your points for Top Bait (large bait can't catch Guardian!). Unlike Large Bait, Top Bait will attract ALL fishes, so you have to make use no other fishes are nearby. From what I have read, you will have to fish 6 times, then the Guardian will appear. Another option is to wait for torrential rain, this will make the Guardian spawn immediate, which I highly suggest. Try to bait the fish as close as possible, keep cast it back once the Guardian is trying to bite onto the hook. Get it as close as possible.
You don't have to get the best fishing rod, but it will definitely help. I caught it with 2nd fishing pole, and TONS OF RESET. Once you have gotten it, you will get additional points aside from the trophy. I am not sure what you should spend the points on though. :/

Craftworker
This trophy will require you to make all of the crafts. If I were you, I wouldn't spend much time on crafting. ONLY spend all the time to craft lockpick, try to keep at least 3 each time before you explore Mementos/Palace. Once you have sufficient lockpick/Eternal lockpick, don't bother to craft the other tools for this accomplishment. You should have enough time for this.
Tip 1: The night after you have sent the calling card, Morgana will allow you to do this as a preparation for the next day. Aside from this action, you will not be able to do anything else. So you are kinda "forced" to craft unless you don't feel like doing so.
Tip 2: Try to increase Kawakani's CR as soon as possible. It will gives you chance to have +1 action during class, which is extremely common in Oct-Nov.

Bookworm
There will be 4 places you can get books. The library, each time you have a new member you will get a new book aside from Akechi. Shinjuku, where you will unlocked all of the books around 4th Palace. The books in Shibuya will require you to watch theater, fishing, batting and work as florist for at least once. At lastly 4 books from Jinbocho. Despite how easy it sounds, it will requires you a lot of actions to get this trophy.
Earliest to complete: MOST LIKELY 2nd playthrough around 7th Palace.
Tip 1: There are some books that add new location for your "date". I highly suggest you to ignore those books/magazines first. So with those that boost social stat/effect (such as fishing/battling) instead. This is because most of the locations will be unlocked once your confidants asked you for a date. And if you will read those books that have their locations unlocked, it will automatically counted as read. It won't take a single action.
Tip 2: Another tips is try to increase Kawakani's CR as soon as possible. It will gives you chance to have +1 action during class, which is extremely common in Oct-Nov.
Tip 3: Always have at least 1~2 unread books with you so you don't waste anytime in class/train. Don't forget to keep return/lend book as soon as possible at the library.
Tip 4: Get Hifumi to CR3. She will date you to Jinbocho. You will eventually need to access here for another 4 books. First 3 books will need 3 Actions while 4th book will take 1 Action. The 4th book will double the speed your finish the book. Sadly, by the time you unlock this skill you would have finish most of the books. So try to keep those books that needs 2 Actions (mostly library books) until you have this skill.
Tip 5: Keep in mind you have to read all the library book before 7th Palace. At 7th Palace, you won't be able to access the school/library. You can keep the last book unread until then though.

A True Confidant
This trophy will require you to max every single confidant. Read more on Confidants to see how to boost affection faster.
Earliest to complete: MOST LIKELY 2nd playthrough on last day of Mementos.

Mask Collector
This trophy will require you to fuse all ultimate persona from each arcana by maxing all CR. Take note that there's also total 6 Treasure Demons. You will most likely missed out Hope Diamond and Crystal Skull as they are only available in Mementos during 7th Palace. The easiest way to scout both of them would be roaming up and down at area 12 and 13 Sheriruth. You will need to have Shinya at CR1 to use ultimate gun move to down the these demons. You do not need the DLC Persona for the 100% completion.
Earliest to complete: Once you unlocked Group Fusion and fuse Satanael in NG+ (Assuming you have fused all others in 1st playtrough)

A Perfect Job
The quest will requires you to do all quests from Mishima and the confidants. You will also need to work all 4 jobs for at least 2~3 times each to get some of the quests.
Earliest to complete: MORE LIKELY at 2nd playthrough's 7th Palace since you need to get most of the Confidants at CR8.
Tip 1: Read every message from Mishima.

Passionate Listener
Honestly, this is probably the most troublesome trophy to me. I assure you that it does not bring forward to NG+ as I only managed to unlocked this at the end of 6th Palace 2nd playthrough.
Earliest to complete: From what I heard, the earliest should be around 5th Palace. But I would say by the end of the 7th Palace you must unlock this trophy to be on safe side.
Tip 1: You probably can get these from the net. But basically, try to get each character to down/kill one/two/three etc enemy. Get as many status ailment as possible. Get all 3 quotes from atk/def/evasion down for each character. Do take note that it will only counts if Futaba comments on those. There's a chance she won't make any comment even if your member is inflicted with status.
Tip 2: Guard will prevent you from most of the ailment. So instead try waste time with switching character (if you have Hifumi's ability) or use item/gun.
Tip 3: Burn and Freeze may be difficult to be inflicted, but Shock is possible. You can try to get Ryuji with Shock Boost. Get an enemy with high HP with no Lightning weakness. Get the enemy Shocked. Any ally who tries to attack a shocked enemy will be inflicted with Shock as well. Unlike other ailment, you can be inflicted with Burn/Freeze even if your member guard.
Tip 4: Take FULL advantage of Akechi during 6th Palace. I would prefer you to put him in the team.

About My Trophies
Just as your reference, I am able to obtain all the remaining trophies at 2nd playthrough. I have obtained:
  • Passionate Listener
  • A true Confidant
  • A Perfect Job
  • Bookworm and Golden Finger
  • Beyond Rehabilation and Mask Collector (No Action needed)
Within a single playtrough (with Kawakani's NG+ item). I believe adding The City's Hard hitter and Guardian of Pond into the list would not be a problem as well as I have around 15 days at the end extra. My point is, there's no point rushing trophies in your first playthrough. Instead, focus on increasing your Social stat and CR (especially Kawakani as her farewell gift is EXTREMELY useful helping you for trophies).

Confidants

About Confidants

Used to be called social link in the previous game. Basically it's about the bonding with your friends. In Persona 5, the bond is created when you made a deal with another person. Each level of bonding is called as Confidant Rank (CR).

Benefit of Confidant Ranks
There are two benefits
  1. You will unlock new ability at certain CR for each person. Your teammates usually will help you in battle, some help you in exp boost, some sells you items etc.
  2. You get bonus exp during fusion. Means the Persona will level up further and learn their skill earlier.
  3. If you max a CR (CR10), you will be able to fuse an ultimate Persona for that arcana. For teammates, their persona will change form as well. There's no change in stat, but they will be able to learn Evade weakness and extra resist another element.
  4. Unlock extra scenes (for non-teammates) during last dungeon and during January. About how they are able to see what's happening to the real world and they support you during that duration.

List of Confidants
Ryuji - Chariot

Haru - Empress
Role: Teammate. Also harvest crops which restore SP. Kinda like level up version of Sojiro.
Mementos quest: None
Importance: Normal
Note: Do take note that Haru is most likely the most "time-attack" confidant to rank up as she is only available during the 6th Palace.
Likable gifts: Chocolate Truffles, Book Cover, Glass Vase, Flower Basket

Akechi - Justice (AUTOMATED)
Role: -

Sojiro - Hiero
Role: Make coffee/curry which helps to restore SP.
Mementos quest: CR8 - Slightly special as you will need to talk to Futaba during day and do the quest alone.
Importance: Normal
Note: Sojiro is known to be the hardest confidant to rank up. I suggest that you do not focus too much on Sojiro at early game as you will face roadblock pretty soon. Once you have passed the 4th Palace, you can then spend more time with him. Do take note that making coffee does give affection to Sojiro as well.

Mishima - Moon
Role: Gives exp to benched members
Mementos quest: None
Importance: High
Note: If you are planning to max Mishima CR, you have to do it before the 6th Palace.

Takemi - Death
Role: Sell medicine which restore HP
Mementos quest: CR7.5
Importance: High until you unlocked SP Adhesive 3, after that she's pretty useless.
Likable gifts: Mini Cactus, Black Mug, Classical Hits

Yoshida - Sun
Unlock: You will need at least 3 Actions to unlock Yoshida. You will have to work in Big Beef Bowl for 2 nights then spend time as his assistant for another night before you can bond with him.
Role: For negotiation, like you can loot more/easier from enemy.
Mementos quest: None
Importance: High
Note:  If you are planning to max Yoshida CR, you have to do it BEFORE the 6th Palace.

Iwai - Hangedman
Unlock: After the 1st Palace, you will get something from him. You will bond with him after you get the item back to him with enough Guts.
Role: Sells better weapon and customize gun
Mementos quest: CR7.5
Importance: Low

Kawakani - Temperance
Unlock: Once you have passed 2nd Palace and go through the maid event. You will have to talk to her at school. Each time you call her will costs 5000 except calling for Special Massage.
Role: Giving you extra "action". Either she helps you to wash your clothes, or giving you another time in class to study/read book/make infiltration tool. At CR10, she will even +1 Action at night after you come back from Palace/Mementos. I would say Kawakani's ability is probably the most useful among all characters, even in NG+.
Mementos quest: CR8 (quest activate in the next morning)
Importance: Extremely high
Likable gifts: Chocolate Truffles, Best of KGB49, Star Mirror, Idol Pins

Ohya - Devil
Unlock: During 3rd Palace
Role: Reduce security level in Palace.
Mementos quest: CR7.5
Importance: Extremely low
Likable gifts: Classical Hits, Fountain Pen, Black Mug

Chihaya - Fortune
Unlock: During 3rd Palace. You will need 3 "Actions" to unlock her. You will have to meet her first 2 nights and spend 100k for her rock salt. Then the 3rd meetup you will unlock a Mementos quest. Until you completed the quest you will not be able to bond with her. Don't worry, you will get back your 100k when you are about to max her CR. ;)
Role: Increase social stat/relationship in return of $$.
Mementos quest: CR0, CR7.5
Importance: Normal
Likable gifts: Star Mirror, Flower Basket, Local Mascot Set

Hifumi - Star
Unlock: During 3rd Palace
Role: Allow member change and flee instantly in battle.
Mementos quest: CR7.5
Importance: Extremely high
Likable gifts: Star Mirror, Incense Set, Rakugo Collection, Sakura Fan, Fountain Pen

Shinya - Tower
Unlock: One of the last confidants you will unlock. After 4th Palace, you will deal with a game cheater in Mementos where you will not be able to deal a single damage. After the event, you will have to go Akihabara's arcade to meet with this guy. He will then ask you to prove you know Phantom Thieves, go talk to Futaba and go back to him. You will then bond with him.
Role: Anything regarding with gun, such as deal SMALL damage during ambush etc. Do take note that his special gun move is extremely important/helpful for you to scout treasure demon. It will take about 5 bullets but confirm to down the enemy.
Mementos quest: CR0, CR8 (you will need to wait him to send the calling card before activate the quest)
Importance: Normal

Sae - Judgement (AUTOMATED)
Note: Sae is rather special as well. You will witness her CR keeps increase as the story progress. But don't mistaken, Persona 5 did not make such silly mistake. The CR is based on PRESENT. So if you still have not finished 6th Palace, you are currently playing in the PAST. So you do not gain any fusion bonus from Judgement until you get back to present.

Twins Warden - Moon (SEMI-AUTOMATED)
Role: Another unique confidant. They will give you quests on what Persona with particular skill you need to show them. After you have done, you will increase their CR. Once you have max their CR, they will allow you to fuse Persona higher than your level. Trust me, this is pretty broken ability, if you have the money for it. For a Persona one level higher than your current level will costs about 42k. For about 5 level difference costs about 60k. Seems like it's more worth if the Persona's level is higher.
Importance: High

Igor - Fool (AUTOMATED)
Role: Unlock fusion and persona inventory slots.

How to increase CR faster?
Few ways.
  1. CR up events. What you replied in the event MAY affect the amount of points you get during the interaction. You can check online for the points. If not, try to reply them in a way you are on their side or keep compliment them. For example, an arcade employee told Shinya to go back early and Shinya refused. So scold that rude employee, obviously it's not Shinya's fault. Come on, you know what to do.
  2. "Date" that person - It doesn't have to be at different place each time, just you can't witness a new event going with the same character again. The points you get will still be the same.
  3. Going through "Special Event" with a character - The character will specially ask you to go out for an activity, usually the night before. This also includes studying together.
  4. Gift - You can give a gift to female characters during "date". Will explain in detail later.
  5. Ask Chihaya to boost certain individual.
  6. Meiji shrine - Will takes an action and 5 yen but is an indirect way of "spending time" with the character. Of course having same Persona arcana will be +1. Extremely useful if you want to focus increasing CR and has nothing else to do.
  7. Have matching Persona when spending time with the character - Doing this will get +1 for each choice/action you took. This does not apply for Special Events though.

Gifting
It's kinda bias, but you can only gift to female characters (except Twins). But keep in mind, you can only buy each gift ONCE. Means, if you will to give Mini Cactus to Takemi, you will NEVER EVER be able to give a second one to Makoto. You can only gift during a date. By giving the correct gift, you will get +3 for that character, that's equivalent to 2 dates in 1. If you can't get a +3 from gifts, I suggest you to reset the game and not give it to that confidant. Gifts may be costly, but I highly suggest you to buy ALL gifts available (below 10k/each) in store once you have enough money.

About Romance
All of the female characters, except Twin Warden, are date-able. At CR 9, you will have the option to become couple with that particular confidant.

Any drawback for multiple relationship?
I would say, almost none, so don't worry about it. During Christmas, regardless who you are spending time with, you will receive an item that boost affection points in NG+. During Valentine, regardless of who you are spending time with, you will still get a SP restoration chocolate from that girl. However, if you are dating more than one girls, you will trigger an additional event on 26th December where the other girls find out you are cheating them. They will wallop you and Sojiro will give you another chocolate for that. So instead you get 2 chocolate if you are cheating them, not a bad deal I suppose. (But honestly speaking, these chocolates are useless.)

Hints on Confidants
This is my personal recommendation from my experience. Try to spend time on confidant who you have the matching Persona. For example, spend time with Futaba when you have Hermit Persona. Even if she will not increase CR anytime, you will still have to do it eventually. Instead, do it when you have that Persona. You can even consider buying cheapest Persona of that Arcana. When it's useless, just fuse it with Network Fusion. Also, do keep in mind what you said to them MAY affect the amount of interaction points outside of the story-based dialogue. During date/CR up events, always reply them as though you are their ally and keep compliment them. Seriously, joking with them may grant you zero interaction point (most cases). So avoid! MOST CR event should give you AT LEAST 3 points. So if you are getting less than that, something is wrong.

Palaces

About Palaces
In Persona 5, Palace exists when someone has big desire. First, you will have to infiltrate the Palace until you have already secure the path to the treasure. You can complete this within a day or two at fastest, including real-life event where you need to "open path" in the real world. Then, you can send the calling card anytime before the deadline, except for 6th Palace which you have to send ON the deadline. Sending calling card will take a day, except you can still (and only) craft infiltration tool during the night. The next day you will directly go into the Palace. Once you have taken the treasure, the Palace will collapse. So if you need to do anything in the Palace, do it before taking the treasure. You can still do it on the day you going to take the treasure. To avoid spoiler, I will not mention which Palace it belongs to.

1st Palace (Castle)
Minimum day required between mission starts and calling card: 1

2nd Palace (Museum)
Take note that at one point you will have to jump into the painting and travel along it, in case you did not notice. As for the Sayuri puzzle, you will have to pick the one that looks different from others, yet correct. Basically the Sayuri's painting should be red, with tree's branch, and her hair should be visible in front.
Minimum day required between mission starts and calling card: 3

3rd Palace (Bank)
I would say this Palace's puzzle is probably the easiest. It's mostly on finding clues such as A=1 etc. Each terminal will have 4 characters password which you just have to input based on what you have gotten.
Minimum day required between mission starts and calling card:1
Tip 1: I suggest to note all the codes in a piece of paper so you don't have to keep refer your key items.

4th Palace (Pyramid)
Minimum day required between mission starts and calling card: 1
Tip 1: Try to keep the Pharoah's gem with you all the time until you enter the painting room.

5th Palace (Space)
There will be two puzzles in this palace. First is a time-attack based of puzzle. You will need to stop piston to continue the path, but only for 30 seconds. The second is space-travelling portal thing. Keep in mind the green door terminal are those which will close once you have passed through it. It's a bit like the logic diagram where you "pass through" 1010 will become 0101.. The other 2 terminals are based on switches. I would say this is the most challenging puzzle among all of the Palaces.
Minimum day required between mission starts and calling card: 1

6th Palace (Casino)
I would say this Palace is rather interesting one. It's basically on how you cheat the coins to go higher floor. You will have to play the games in order:
  1. Dice game
  2. Slot game - I would say this is probably the hardest among the 4 games, cause you will need to run around finding Terminals. Meanwhile it's quite hard to hide as the shadow walking path is quite random.
  3. Maze - I think this is annoying when you first entered. But once you are used to using Third Eye throughout the maze, it's not that hard.
  4. Arena - Honestly, I can't even describe how easy is this compared to others. You will be battling shadows one on one. But seems like their LP is shorter, you can almost OTK each of them except the last one.
Minimum day required between mission starts and calling card:2 (back-to-back)
Tip 1: Don't become a casino addict. Don't use too much coins, you can't "cheat" the 2nd time. Means if you will to lose the coins, you will have to gamble until you can get back the losses.
Tip 2: Try to make FULL use of Akechi if you plan to get Passionate Listener trophy. Let him down an enemy, enemy down him, finish the enemy, debuff him with items.. as many ailment as possible.
Tip 3: After you have secure the treasure, you have to go to the hideout to talk about sending the calling card. You can leave after the meeting without entering the Palace/Mementos. Otherwise you will not be able to spend time with any of the Phantom gang.

7th Palace (Cruise)
Minimum day required between mission starts and calling card:1
Tip 1: You can find Hanuman here. Try to scout him and itemize him. It will be the ultimate melee weapon for Ryuji.
Tip 2: Get ready once you have gotten the 5th approval letter from the yakuza. There's no warning and you can't save the game. Heal up your team members with items. You will be forced to engage in 3 battle back to back.

Mementos Depth/Shrine
You will be forced to enter Mementos on 24th Dec whether you like it or not. You can't do any Mementos quests as well. You won't be able to leave the dungeon until the final boss. However, twins warden will be at the Velvet room entrance to heal you. So you don't have to be stingy with your SP. :)
Minimum day required between mission starts and calling card: Within a single day in "dungeon"
Tip 1: Try to have all the Phantom Thief members' confidants' rank as high as possible before going to Mementos. Haru may be too late, but at least have her with CR2 to use Baton Pass.
Tip 2: You can actually spam your Auto-Recover quite often in this dungeon since each Safe Room will let you get to Twins for healing.
Tip 3: Baal can be found in Mementos Depth. But scouting Baal isn't easy as he doesn't have any weakness. You can only hope to crit him. If you are able to scout him, he can be the ultimate gun for Haru. If you can't get him, there's another persona which is far easier to get, Odin (you will need Yusuke max CR). He may sounds godly, but FUSING Odin (Kali and Abaddon) is freaking simple. Once you have reached the end of the Shrine, the area before is good place to grind. Eventually recruiting the shadows there will be freaking EASY. You can fuse Odin like 10 times if you want to. Odin will be the ultimate gun for Ann. Obviously, you can only fuse one of them inside the dungeon.
Tip 4: The area before the shrine/final boss is a great area to grind for level. It just takes about half day to get from level 7x to 9x, enough for you to even fuse Lucifer. However defeating them are not that easy task. Good thing only two combination of shadows there. It will either be Mot (weak wind) or Abaddon (weak Nuclear/Psi) with 2 Kali. What I suggest is get Morgana, Ryuji/Yusuke and Makoto/Haru (I prefer Haru because of her One Shot) in your team. Have a Auto-Mataru persona and keep set it as your first persona before ambush and another physical user Persona. Once you enter the battle, you can use severe/colossal on Kali, if it crits, then go for another Kali, otherwise leave it to the next member. When it's Haru/Makoto or Morgana turn, hit Abaddon or Mot with their weakness. Then Baton Pass to MC/Ryuji/Yusuke to hit/kill Kali.  Don't forget even if you are facing with Abbadon team, Morgana can still use Miracle punch on Kali to get +1 move for Baton pass to main physical attacker. When your level is getting too high, you will eventually insta-kill every shadow in ambush. So your only way to grind is to stand in front of the enemy until the "Attack" command shows up. If you are unlucky, you will be surrounded by enemy I suppose. :/

New Game Plus

About New Game Plus (NG+)
In case you don't know anything about NG+, it's about playing the same story 2nd play through for the game. Usually the purpose of it is to explore other things you have missed out or additional NG+ events, probably applies for any games with NG+.

Why NG+?
Well,
  • Unlock other Persona, such as Satanael. And I can bet most of you can't max ALL confidants' rank at first playthrough. In this case, you would have missed out some of the ultimate persona as well.
  • Additional boss battle: Twins Warden. You can fight Twins Warden anytime once you can enter Mementos. Talk to Caroline who stands beside the Velvet Room.

What carries forward in NG+?
Well, I bet you can easily get these information, but I will mention it clearly to make this whole thing complete.
  • Money
  • You social stat.
  • Persona Compendium - Persona Compendium is just like Pokedex. For whichever Persona that you have obtained, you will be able to resummon them. So once you have unlocked Velvet Room in NG+, you will also be able to see the weakness/resistance of those Persona you have in Compendium. Minibosses and bosses will still be ??? though.
  • Items you get from confidants after the final boss.
  • All skill cards
  • All equipment - Weapons, armor, accessory, as long as it's equip-able. Whether, it's equip or not, all these equipment will be unequipped and send to inventory in NG+.

What to do before Last Dungeon?
22nd Dec will be your last day for roaming. So you have to get these done before the next day.
  • Try to fuse high-end Persona that can turns into high-end equipment. Persona don't carry forward, but equipment do. So I highly suggest you to "Itemize" them as much as possible before going to the dungeon. Do keep note you can only itemize one Persona per day.
  • SELL ALL your treasures and consumable items (medicine etc). Turn them into money. Those materials don't carry forward. So instead, sell it to Iwai. You can use money to summon high-end Persona during NG+.

Events before NG+
Let me get things clear, you will get 3 kind of NG+ items after you beat the last boss. Confidant point booster on Christmas, SP-restoring chocolate on Valentine, and farewell gifts that unlocks confidant ability in NG+. Aside from getting these items, you can't do anything else except going through the story. So make sure you do it before 23rd Dec.

24th Dec (Christmas)
On this day, you will be able to date your partner. Whoever you dated, you will receive an NG+ item that boost the confidant points during NG+. For example, if you will to date Makoto that night, you will receive an item that boost her confidant points faster in NG+ when you have the same arcana (priestess) in your persona inventory. So just spend the night with whoever you would like to date, this item isn't that important to begin with. :)

14th Feb (Valentine)
Just like Christmas, you will be able to spend time with your partner. Despite who you are dating, you will be receiving a NG+ SP-recovering chocolate. It's even less valuable than the previous item honestly. If you are having more than one partner, you will trigger an additional event on 15th Feb where Sojiro will give you another chocolate. Hence a bonus, I suppose. So let me repeat, there isn't any drawback dating more than one girl.. Except the fact you should guilty. So go wild!

19th March (Farewell)
Then again, a lot of you keep wondering if cheating your partner will affect your NG+ items. The answer is NO. On this day, you will receive NG+ farewell gifts from ALMOST EVERYONE with max confidant rank regardless of you cheating on her or him. These items help to unlock some of the confidant abilities immediately at the start of NG+. So these items are far more important than the previous two. Make sure you check your map (R1>square), everyone that appears with max confidant will give you an item. This including Twin Warden/Lavenza. Despite you are able to roam around the town, you can't do much except talking to people/confidant. You can't even enter the Velvet room to itemize Persona or sell items on this day. So you have to do everything before 23rd Dec.
PS: Keep in mind Farewell gifts' effect will only activate after you have unlocked CR1 of that particular confidant.

Twins Warden's Battle
As mentioned, you will be able to battle with Twins Warden. Recommended level would be around 50+ level. Preferably the members you are using are at CR10 and learned Evade Weakness ability. During the battle, there's condition where you have to deal a certain amount of damage to the Twins after 6 turns. Otherwise the Twins will knock down your whole team and instant kill your team. The main reward winning the Twins is that you gain Omnipotent Orb, which null all elements except Almighty. You can re-battle with the twins anytime even if you lost the battle.
Tip 1: It may not be a bad idea to lose to the twins if you are able to last at least 10 turns. The Twins will give you Expedite Ring, where you will gain extra 50% exp for equipped member. And it's applicable even if that member is benched, which it makes it extremely useful for character you are not using, for instance Futaba.

Edit 20/8/17: Added Twins Warden's Battle.

About Everything

About Me
Honestly, I have been calling myself a Persona fan for a long time despite the fact I have not played P1 to P3. and my P4 was even incomplete. So don't shoot me hard, hardcore fans. :P However, I have the reason to say I like it. You see, I am a fan of mystery/detective type of story. And Persona 4 has really amazed me a lot. The reason I did not finish the game was because I am not the type of gamer who likes to play time-attack based of game. Cause I made me thinks so hard what to do each day so that I don't waste any time, and that caused me to stop playing.. Until I even lost the mood to continue. But I assure you I have completed Persona 5. No worries!

About Persona
I am not sure if it's myself, but somehow I still feel Persona is still underrated in its popularity. If you have not hear about Persona, I will briefly explain what's it about the game.

"Persona" stands for true self. For most cases, one will acquire "Persona" when he/she accepts him/herself. The story will usually start with the Main Character(MC), as a new transfer student to a new town. The MC is the first/second one to acquire Persona and the "chosen one". The MC is like the wild card, unlike other characters, where he will be able to summon any Persona by fusing, while the others will have their own specific Persona. The MC will start with nothing, no friends nor social stat. That's your job to fill in those with the time given.

In every Persona games, we talk about "bonding". It emphasizes a lot of friendship power. The friends you made will give you benefit. And of course the closer you are to them, the better the benefit. Each of your friends will be represented by the tarot cards/arcana. In Persona 5, you may unlock new benefit for each "Confidant Level". And when fusing Persona, you will get bonus exp depending on your current level with that person.

As for the story, usually it will turns into a dark, complicated story with plot twist. Which obviously I won't say much about it here. :) While outside of the story, you will have your own "free" time. What you want to for the free time is your choice, whether it's to increase your social skill, bond with your friend or training your character. Or maybe even getting trophies. Each day, there's two actions you can do regardless it's school day or holiday. Yes, let's called it "Action" for now on so you know how long it will need.

About Persona 5
The moment you starts the game, you will be caught by the police. Here, the MC will talk to the prosecutor (Sae) about what happened before this, event by event. It begins with the MC having false criminal record. He then has to live in another town with new guardian (Sojiro) and enroll in another school. On the first day to school, he accidentally entered another dimension (known as Palace) with his new friend (Ryuji). Soon, they noticed that this Palace was formed from the greed of the people. Taking their most valuable thing (known as treasure) in the Palace will make the owner to lose their desire and confess their sins. With the power to "change heart", they formed the "Phantom Thief" and decided to use their new power to "save" people from people who misuse their power/rank. Obviously as time pass, the team grow bigger and bigger until... The MC got betrayed..

ATLUS took about 10 years to make this series since Persona 4. Well, obviously you can feel how much effort they put into this game. Even the design of the menu looks so beautifully done. But honestly I don't like the theme as much as I like Persona 4. The whole thief theme is cool but it kinda feel weird that someone can actually change of heart all of the sudden. Thanks to how much they developed Makoto, most of the Phantom Thieves members look like background to me. The music is great, no doubt.

About Persona 5 Difficulty
I am currently playing normal difficulty. Honestly, I don't think it's hard. With the confidant ability, I can say that it's as though you are playing cheat compared to other Persona games. Some say you have to play difficulty higher than normal to enjoy the game. I don't have the intention to do so. I am the type of gamer who likes to enjoy the story rather than challenging. I will only challenge myself for the trophies, but not the game difficulty. :P
